Margaritaville
So when I'm 40 I want this cake!! And don't forget the margaritas! And I better be on an island too! LOL
I love these cakes. I am in NO WAY affiliated with this company. I just love Anne Heap's creativeness. I have tried cake-making/decorating and it is just not for me! My grandma did it for years and made many wedding cakes for people. She had the talent. I, on the other hand, don't have the talent or the desire--its too hard on the wrists. :( So I admire people who can create these pieces of art! Thanks to Pink Cake Box for sharing your work. :)

Christmas box
I made this gift box earlier this week. We still have Christmas get-togethers after Christmas here, so there are still small gifts to give away... The box was inspired by the glittered patterned CS from My Mind's Eye. There are so many fun papers in the pack. With this box I used Choc Chip CS on the bottom. The box top is out of the glitter paper. I had an oops while scoring the corners so I had to devise a way to hold the corners together better--and then came up with the Choc Chip corners--1/2 square folded in half. The edging around the box was done with Martha Stewart edge punch in Buckaroo Blue CS, and sponged with Choc Chip ink. The swirls are die cuts from Quickutz. I love them! I dipped some of the brown ones in iridescent white glitter and it turned out the same color of blue. The snowflakes were punched from Kraft colored CS, glittered and then sponged with Choc Chip ink. The tag was made using Basic Grey stamps in Choc Chip ink. Also used are ribbon and jute twine. Aside from the oopsy on the corners I thought it turned out ok...
Happy Blogoversary to me!
Wow! I cannot believe I have been doing this for 2 years already!! This year has not been what I had hoped it would be in my crafting department. I'm hoping to be able to spend a little more time doing something I love in the next year...(this is my New Year's resolution for this coming year... oh and to lose weight of course! Isn't that always a traditional resolution??) I hope all of you had a Merry Christmas and enjoy the rest of the holidays!

White Christmas
We NEVER have white Christmas' here! I think the statistics say we have a 5% chance every year of having snow on Christmas... We got enough snow to cover my Christmas lights out on the front lawn..and last night it snowed another 5 inches and they are buried...I have glow-in-the-snow lights. The weather man said that this is the biggest accumulation of snow in this area in 41 years!!The poor dog had to resort to doing his potty duties out by the car because he was up to his ears in snow. I'm sure he will be glad when it is all gone! LOL
Christmas Treats
Things have been soooo busy! I haven't had any time to do any paper crafting. I miss it! Anyway, I had a few minutes and threw this together. I had to think of a small quick gift... I used one of Anna Wight's new Christmas sets... I just love the sheep!
Other items used:
- SU retired tags
- Whipper Snapper Anna Wight stamps
- Lasting Impressions buttons
- Martha Stewart holly punch
- Copics

Baby Quilt
I have posted pictures on my quilt blog of my semi-finished mermaid project. If you would like to see it go here. The baby came today early in the morning right before the snow storm hit. I'm so glad that the weather did not complicate the ride to the hospital 15 miles away! It's amazing that the storm hit after she was born... GOOD TIMING!!!
Unusual Winter day in the NW
This is not normally what it looks like in the valley here in the NW this time of year. It was predicted to have the snow turn into rain, but I don't see any signs of the snow stopping! Here's what it looks like outside my front door.... It probably doesn't look like much, but in this neck of the woods this kind of weather closes schools and other events!

Glitter tip
Don't you hate it when your glitter gets everywhere and you can't pick it up? Try using a swiffer cloth. The glitter sticks to it so well and it makes clean-up so much easier!

Changito Winter Wishes
Here is the perfect "politically correct" holiday card! I found this set Changito Snow Play by Stampendous. Apparently it is an exclusive set for whatever reason. You can buy the individual stamps in rubber, but this is a clear set of stamps. It's so stinkin cute! The glitter on this one was messy... I used glitter glue on my Martha Stewart snowflake punch out and glittered it up with silver. The background was cuttlebugged. Also used: Copic Markers, SU NON, Bravo Burgandy, Buckaroo Blue, W White CS, Nestabilities, gems, and metallic ribbon.

Baby Shower Thanks..
This was one of my trial Thank You cards.. I decided to go with the other set because this would have been too time consuming. The image is from Gina K and the sentiment is from Paper Trey.

I used the Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder for the background. Other supplies used: Nestabilities scalloped square, Pink Pirouette, Positively Pink, and W White CS, Lasting Impressions Buttons.

Thank You cards...
This is a set of 15 thank you cards..I swear this is the most cards I have made in one sitting for a very long time!!! These were made for my niece. She just had a baby shower and needed some thank you cards to send out.. They were all done on raised-edge note cards. I used SU's Bundle of Joy setI masked the square center to stamp the border. The thank you sentiment is from Paper Trey. I painted the giraffe using an aqua painter, ink refills and blender pen refill solution. The edges and sentiment were inked with the old Positively Pink ink pad.

Another project...
I am working on a new project, but it's not a paper craft. I have finally cleaned up my craft room enough to make room for my quilting stuff--yay! My craft room is always a work in progress. But I think I finally have it set up so that I can quilt and stamp comfortably and have them both set up at the same time. Anyway, I started working on a quilt. If you would like to see it, you can see it HERE. Leave me a comment and tell me what you think!

Upsy Daisy
Life has been crazy here! Since I have been off of work I have been in the which-way-do-I-go funk. There are so many things that need to be done it's hard to find a place to start. I did take a little time out for crafting... This card was really easy to make. I used glossy white CS and sponged it with the following SU inks: M Mustard, C Caramel, M Moss, C Celery, S Saffron, R Rust. The flowers were stamped using Chocolate ink. Other items used include: SU Chocolate and Caramel CS, Brown Bazzill CS, Coppermine Fabric Fancies Prima flowers, Nestabilities tags, and brown gingham ribbon.

Can't Wait!!!
For the past 7 months I have been working with a home health agency as a case manager. I have totally loved working with my patients. But, I have been working an average of 50-60 hours per week. It has been really difficult to have a life (to say the least!)!! Wellllll, I have secured a new position working in the schools and I'm really excited about it! It means I will have normal hours and I won't have to bring my work home with me! Part of the reason why I decided to become a nurse is to decrease my hours worked in a week--not increase!!! With this job I will have time to be me again! I have so many plans in my crafting future!!! I have about a 2 week break in between jobs that is going to be great!! I'll be able to slam out some of my Halloween ideas that have been brewing in my head for a while now!! I have one more week of pure torture and then I'm DONE!!!!! It will be so nice to not have to bring home a computer and chart for hours every night. Anyway... stay tuned 'cause I'm gonna be posting some fun stuff! I just bought a bunch more DVD tins from Effectuality again. I also bought some other things from there too. I think you will like what I have in store!!

Blue ribbon awards!
I decided to put some of my work in as exhibits in the Clark County Fair this year. I could only enter 6 items. So, I put 4 of my paper crafts and 2 of my quilts. These are cards and crafts that I have posted on this blog in the past. I will be posting my quilts on my other blog Lovin My Quilts soon. Anyhow, I won 4 blue ribbons! It stinks that they don't award rosettes for paper crafts at this fair. It may be because it is just a paper craft (??). I don't know, but I think it deserves more respect than that. There were many different displays of cards and SB pages. They just weren't as touted as highly as the other crafts. Photography was huge! The quilts were awesome. I love to look at the display of quilts. My mom and aunt are both entering quilts in the Oregon State Fair this year. Can't wait to see what ribbons they got! I Wish I lived in Oregon so I could enter! WA State Fair is just too far away for me to drop everything and go enter. Maybe another time!

He is so stinkin' cute and such a monkey! I thought the card was perfect for him. If I would have had more time I would have added more. The star came from Jody Morrow's sticky sale stars.

Simply sweet...
It's a miracle!!! I finally got a chance to sit down and actually stamp! Things have been turned upside down in my world lately, so getting the chance to play has been very rare. We are starting to settle down into our new home. Most things are still a mess--mostly because we are working all the time. I put in almost 40 hours of overtime in 2 weeks--the past 2 weeks. It has been insane! And taking its toll to say the least. There has been a string of unfortunate events that has caused me to be out of the loop for quite some time. They say they come in 3's but I think I got about 5 or 6 on that one. Hopefully things will settle down for a while. Anyway, I'm hoping to be back on track with my crafting. I made a card with the new MFT stamps. I hope you like. Nothing great, but something stamped at least! ;)

Poets & Pirates Tour
We had such a blast last night!! I bought 3rd row seats to Kenny Chesney's concert. Here are some pics I got from the night.... We were able to reach up and get a little tap on the hand from the 4th consecutive Entertainer Of The Year (ranking with Garth Brooks)!! I was able to get a few videos of him too. I'm hoping to retrieve some snapshots from the video. They were really good! Hope you enjoy!!
