Hang In There

I had a little time to play this morning. I had to play with this new stamp from Whipper Snapper... This one was fairly easy and quick to make. I used Quickutz leaf die. I had a heck of a time with my Quickutz handheld Squeeze tool... It kept cutting only half of the die. I have several of the die cutting machines/tools.. And I gotta say that the one I use the most is my Cuttlebug. Its compact, and for the most part its the right size for most of the projects I use. I also have a Big Shot that I use for other large projects, but it doesn't get near the use my Cuttlebug does. It's the best!

Here is the recipe:
  • SU Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Chocolate, W White , Creamy Caramel, Wasabi CS
  • Whipper Snapper Monkey stamp
  • SU retired Mini Mates set
  • MM brads
  • Quickutz leaf die
  • Prismacolor pencils and gamsol
  • Distressor
  • SU Close to Cocoa ink
  • Cuttlebug embossing folder
  • corner rounder
  • dimensionals

Ok, this is a first for me! I never EVER make anything for St Patrick's Day... But I found these adorable little body art jewels and thought they would be really fun to play with. I also wanted to do a special fold of some sort so I decided to make this flip lid box... The stamp is another fun Whipper Snapper stamp I just got. I cannot help it! They are the cutest stamps ever! The box is also adorned with stamps from Paper Trey and Studio G. I tried to get a closer look at these sweet little shamrock jewels.. They are very pretty in person. Hope you like!!

Valentine Trip

Well not actually on Valentine's Day.. But its my gift to the family this Valentine's Day.. because I love them so much!! We are going on a 10 day trip to Hawaii in May! For those of you who have been there, you are probably thinking "big deal". But we've never been there! I'm sooo excited! I am and always have been a tropical girl... I love the water! Maybe it's the Pisces in me?!? Well, I'm not going to spill the details.. Just in case my kids decide to visit here.. (*inserting prayer* please, please, don't visit!) LOL. But here are the projects I have been working on for my kids to let them know... They will get these on Valentine's day... The card that goes inside the pocket card is their ticket.. not the real one, but mom's ticket to them.. I tried to make the mail boxes look like huts.. Let me tell ya, trying to come up with some of this was interesting to say the least! And sooooo messy.. I'm surprised they haven't caught on... The mess has been sitting out here on the table for the past month! They probably walk by and think its just mom's craft stuff.... I tried not to be obvious... But here's the funny part... They saw in my bedroom closet that I had some chocolate frogs for them. LOL So they totally think they are getting chocolate frogs!!! Too funny.. Oh boy, I really hope they don't see this!!!

10 years ago:
I was a stay-at-home mom with a 1 year old and a 4 year old.. The good ole days!

Things on my to-do list today:
  1. stamp (always)
  2. clean the house
  3. run into town to take my daughter shopping

What would I do if I were suddenly made a billionare:

I would definitely have to buy an island somewhere... somewhere private for my own sanity! Charities are always a must--would donate to them. Would make sure all my friends and family were taken care of... And I think I would have to hire my own private massuer..

3 of my bad habits:
  1. definitely my shopping addiction--mostly stamping
  2. my Diet Pepsi habit--wish I could kick it!
  3. biting my nails... so bad for the teeth

3 places I have lived:

  1. Salem, OR
  2. Tualitin, OR
  3. Vancouver, WA

5 jobs that I have had:

  1. Worked in women's clothing store
  2. Worked as a tax agent
  3. worked at fabric/craft store (go figure)
  4. Worked at a bank as a teller
  5. Working as a registered nurse

5 things people don't know about me:

  1. I have no full-blood sisters or brothers. They are all half...half from my mom, half from my dad--and I'm the baby..
  2. I am related to Samuel B Morse--inventor of the Morse Code
  3. My family is spread all over the US--I live in the NW, have family in NY, FL, CO, KS, OR, AK
  4. My son has a "spock" ear, and my daughter was born with a 6th toe...I have a distant relative who had webbed fingers--the first two and the last two... I call us the Star Trek generation..
  5. My very first concert I have ever been to was when I was about 6 years old.. It was Donnie and Marie (ROFL)..

I am going to tag:

  1. Chris SBS 10 sistah
  2. Trudi SBS 10 sistah with the best photos!
  3. Michele aka Whimsey SBS 10 sistah

Get Better

I finally put together this card! The little bear is so stinkin cute! I used the glittered cuttlebug technique on this one. I have needed alot of Get Well cards lately so I thought it was perfect.

The recipe:
  • Stampin Up W White, Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue CS
  • Whipper Snapper BooBoo Bear
  • Prismacolor and gamsol
  • Lasting Impressions buttons-- Boardwalk Blue
  • May Arts striped ribbon, SU organdy, irridescent cord
  • Word Window Punch
  • Cuttlebug embossing folder
  • Glitter
  • SU retired Simple Sayings stamp set
  • Stickles

Here's a tip: In order to create a slit on the crease of the fold for the ribbon I used the Basic Gray Notch supplies. I have never actually purchased the BG Notch tool.. I use the refill blades (sold seperately to refill the tool) and use an eyelet mat and a hammer to cut the notch out. Saves a bunch of money!! I believe the Notch tool is about $25.. This refill set cost about $9-10. Quite a savings!

Glittered Penguin

Here is another attempt at the glittered Cuttlebug. I have several card fronts ready for me to decorate... I just have to find the time! A one day weekend just does not suffice when it comes to wanting to do something for myself. I've been working a 2 on, 1 off schedule lately.. Only having one day breaks makes it hard just to catch up on housework let alone try to craft! Anyway, I decided to use Groovy Guava to try a different color scheme on a winter card. I don't think the picture does this one justice. If it was sunny or I had a nice photo box it would look so much better! It is sooo sparkley (is that a word? LOL).

Here's what I used:

  • SU Groovy Guava, Barely Banana, W White CS
  • SU Vanilla grosgrain ribbon
  • Cuttlebug embossing folder and die
  • Whipper Snapper penguin stamp
  • Paper Trey's Square Corners and Borders
  • Stickles--lots of stickles
  • Brayer, SU pastel glitter, Tsukineko glue pad
  • SU Groovy Guava ink
  • Corner Rounder
  • Dimensionals
