more Hawaii fun!

While we were there the kids and I got henna tattoos. It was fun to do as a family! A little spendy, but it was fun! I don't have the guts to get a real one. I have horrible images in my head that the tattoo will get all stretched out or something--gross! So, I have never gotten one. The last pic was taken on the last day. We were goofing around on a bench in an outdoor mall... :PHave you ever done this??

How crazy is this?? When I planned this trip to Hawaii I planned for all of us to go parasailing! Sounds fun? It sounded soooo fun---until I got sea-sick on our first boat of the trip. Then I was dreading it... With this little ride, there wasn't any sailing by any means.... It was all speed until we got there! The water was really choppy that day and we hit lots of bumps along the way... enough to make you want to up-chuck your lunch! Just before my son and I got in the harness, the crew asked me if "THEY talked me in to it". And I said.. "ummm, no! It was my idea!". They were shocked, LOL. Then I said, "but I'm not so sure now!". It was a scary thought at first, but it was so much fun! Even through all of the motion sickness it was still fun! The whole family had a blast. We had really had to talk my daughter in to getting in the harness. But she did it!! And she's glad she did... she had alot of fun too!

More from Hawaii

Here are some pics from our trip! We had such a blast! I took so many pictures, but the scenery ones are my favorite. The first pic at the top is over in Waianae at a luau. The second pic is of Diamond Head from the charter boat out to our submarine adventure. The 3rd pic was taken from the balcony of our room. Loved it!! Pic 4 was taken on a sunset dinner cruise. Had to get a pic of the sun setting over the water. It was pretty hazy that day, but the pic turned out good! And last but not least a pic of my beautiful daughter and myself that we took on the last day. I have so many more, but it would take me forever to post!

Aloha from Honolulu!!

I have had such limited access to the computer. We aren't getting any WiFi here where we are and the waves are few and far in between. So far we have done something every day. Our first day here we went to the US Arizona Memorial. Our second day was a trip out on Waianae Beach on a sail. We sailed out to a great little snorkeling spot and saw TONS of spinner dolphins. I got really sick on the boat--something I was not expecting. I ended up not snorkeling. Everyone else did. So I took pics from the boat. I happened to catch this picture of the dolphin in mid-air. The pod had about 40-60 dolphins in it and several of them swam within feet of the kids and husband! It was really fun, except for the motion sickness. Day 3: we went parasailing!! I didn't think I had the guts to go through with it, but I did!! We have a roll of film to develop that the crew took of all of us in the air. Definitely worth it!! Everyone had a blast!! Day 4: today--we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center and enjoyed an unbelievable show!! The flame-throwing dances were the best!! Tomorrow we get to go on a 1 hour plane tour of the island. Can't wait for that!!

Big happy birthday

I made this sweet little card for my daughter. She absolutely loves elephants. This adorable ((BIG)) stamp is from Whipper Snapper. It is colored in with Copics. I love the richness of the colors, but I definitely need some practice with these! Things have been slowing down just a bit for me so hopefully I will get more of a chance to stamp today and tomorrow. Have a great weekend and hopefully no one gets more snow! We have record late snow this year. I have NEVER seen snow this late in the year here in the NW. It is not sticking by any means, but it's still snow!! I hear Hawaii calling my name! I need some sunshine! Enjoy!!

Something different...

This is something totally different for me. I have had a Cricut for a while now and I have not used it much. The Cricut cartridges have been on sale at Michael's this week and I bought a few of them. We have a birthday party to go to for my twin niece and nephew this afternoon and this is what I came up with. They are really cute. The only thing I do not like about these is they are very time consuming. But they are fun to put together! The color on the Mickey card is Brilliant Blue, although it doesn't look like it. All of the paper is Stampin Up except for the turquoise blue and the pink for the base of the Minnie card, which is Bazzill. The cartridges I used are Mickey and Friends, and ZooBalloo.Sunday, April 6, 2008

Birthday Bear
Today was a very relaxing Easter. We didn't do much. The kids are sick with another bug... So we didn't go anywhere. I had a little time to make this little box. The stamp is a new stamp by Whipper Snapper... Birthday Bear... He's sooo cute! The box was a pattern that I have had for AGES! The template is made by Darcie's Country Folk. The measurements are 4.25" x 5.5" x .75"... I think I bought this template about 7-8 years ago at a rubber stamp convention. For my SBS10 sistahs, this is one of a few samples I have up my sleeve for our challenge. The challenge is to use something you haven't used since you bought it, or something you haven't used in a long time! This one, even though my pattern is old, is not the one I had intended for this challenge--just FYI! On the corners of the transparency sheet, I used my scallop circle punch cut into quarters using SU Pixie Pink CS, and glued to the inside of the box..
The recipe:
- SU Bashful Blue, Pixie Pink,W White CS
- Transparency sheet
- Whipper Snapper Birthday Bear
- Stampin Up retired It's Your Birthday set
- Copic markers
- Stickles
- SU Ballet Blue ink
- SU Black marker
- Scallop Circle Punch

Back in a bit..
I just got back from a wonderful weekend in the San Juan Islands in WA state. My husband and I had a very relaxing time! The weather was great and we got some awesome views of the Olympic mountains on the peninsula. We had a good time, and got back just in time for my birthday... The bummer is that I caught some sort of bug while we were there so today I have the blahs. And to top it off I got one less hour of sleep--ick! Hopefully this week I can muster up enough energy to make a card or two. I'm really missing it! I just got some new toys that I'm itching to try out, so I'll be back later to share!
